absolutely true, we need to defy the programming that has been drilled into our heads by
society and the negative thinking/programming of those around us. everyone wants to tell you whats good or bad for you and while they usuallly mean well, we need to find our answers. to see what lies within the beauty of our own souls. This can only be achieved through patient introspection and asking the really hard question s of God , our faith, and of ourselves. sometimes your destiny lies JUST beyond the thin veil of illusion. when we see how thin that veil really, it can change everything for the better. so you may have to throw out/ burn the old ‘map’ of your life and ask God for a new one! It can be really painful but i speak from experience, ITS SOOOO WORTH IT!!
Hello Brad.
Thank you for posting your comments; I appreciate it very much!
It is indeed true that “societal programming” and the “negative thinking/programming” of others around us in our lives can “challenge us developmentally” at times; however, it is also true that there is also some “merit” in that which they share with us.
Our “task” was, and is, to find “the good” in what we’ve learned from these sources and “build upon it;” after all, sometimes that “programming” has helped us to develop into the people that we have become, and that is something to be proud of.
On the other hand, it is also “good work” to learn to recognise where we have “grown beyond” that which has been given or offered to us from these “sources,” and “let these go;” for they have “served their purpose” for us.
In the end, there will often be that which is indeed good from the “old map,” and since it was from you as a “part of god,” it does not serve anyone well to assume it was “all bad.”
To use your “religious preferences;” “god” was “hidden within” the “old map” for you to find. It was part of your “spiritual work” to separate that which “led you away” from “god,” and then, to take this “to the next level” in your life; as you “find your way home.”
My greatest wish for you Brad is that if and when you come across any other soul who “believes differently” than you do about “god;” that you eventually come to realize that they are not “wrong” or “less” than you for “following a different path” to “god;” for “this deity,” by “whatever name,” comes to all in a manner in which they can accept and understand, when they are “ready.”
It is good to see you have found your “spiritual path” in life Brad; and thank you again for sharing it with others…
All the best to you,
~ Charles
